Along with shooting weddings, I also shoot models as brands as a North Carolina Photographer. This post showcases a lot of the images I caught for the brand Shrimp & Grits Co over a 2 month period. I had a blast shooting these models with all the fresh merchandise I was sent. We shot all over the city of Charlotte but also a great deal at Anne Springs Greenway in Fort Mill South Carolina.
Most of the time when I’m shooting experienced models I try not to get in their way. By that I mean, they’re professionals for a reason, let me shoot them as they work without interjecting a lot. I obviously have some commands and poses that I will have them use from time to time but for the most part I let them flow through their poses and I just worry about shooting. I have to have those skills as a North Carolina photographer. Its great when you’re working with professional models because you can just focus on composition and shooting.
For these images I worked with a bunch of models, including a married couple who were both models. You will get a wide array of images here from city to nature vibes. I also chose to shoot all these pictures natural light for the brand. I noticed most of their images didn’t have a studio vibe so I chose to make my images look the same to match their brand. It’s important when working with brands that you keep your vibe and style in sync with theirs unless they say otherwise.
Being a North Carolina photographer we have a nice array of scenes to shoot in. From big cities like Charlotte, Greensboro, and Raleigh we can get a rustic vibe, but we also have so much nature to shoot around to get us that vibe. I always try to represent both city and nature on all of my shoots, especially from brands. I’m sure you will see that below in the pictures I took.
