As a Lake Norman photographer I get amazing backdrops for my images. It’s important to remember as a family photographer that your backgrounds don’t have to be static. We are free to go on adventures on our shoots and thats exactly what I did with this family on their shoot. We boarded their boat and took off on Lake Norman for an adventure across the lake. While I typically use MAGMOD and flash on my shoots, for this one I kept it all natural light.
We started our shoot at the Lake Norman Yacht Club where they kept their boat. After getting some shots of them on their boat docked, we took off. Mom led the way with the steering for most of the journey, but you can see she handed those duties off from time to time. This shoot was fun because you could see so much love between this family. I’m lucky as a Lake Norman photographer I’m able to capture this kind of love quite frequently.
Once we got a good ways out, we dropped anchor and hung out for a bunch of shots. They popped champagne and I managed to get all of that action. This was a lot of fun. Everyone even jumped in the water at one point, you can see those images below. I’ll never forget this shoot as a Lake Norman photographer, and I pray I will have many more like this one, but beggars can’t be choosers I suppose.
