I was so excited when I found out about Cedar Creek Ranch in Waxhaw. My family and I live in Waxhaw so to discover a gorgeous wedding venue a stones throw away from the house, got me pretty stoked. You can check their site out HERE. To start out with this engagement shoot, my couple and I met at Provisions in downtown Waxhaw. I like to meet with my couples before the shoots to build a rapport.
After coffee we took off to the venue. I was blow away at just how big the property that Cedar Creek Ranch sits on was. We toured the entire property before we began shooting, it was so beautiful. My couple brought to outfits so we started shooting with the first. There was a really cool pathway in-between the trees that we started shooting at. It brought in some really good color.
Cedar Creek Ranch had a bunch of forrest area where I could let the sun peak through to try and get some sun bursts as the couple shared an intimate moment. After the couple changed outfits we walked out to the pond at Cedar Creek Ranch and began shooting around it. Next to the pond was a big open field which we used for some shots as well.
And lastly there was the beautiful ranch itself at Cedar Creek Ranch. Thats where we finished the shoot. The architecture and color of the ranch was perfect in the background for these shots. You’ll notice in these shots the couple seem to be lit and they were, I used my flashes along with the MAGMOD Box to hit them with some soft light that didn’t over power them.
