When Joey asked me to shoot his Asheville proposal I almost jumped out of my chair. While we were going to shoot alot around the beautiful city of Asheville, the actual proposal was going to take place on the Blue Ridge Parkway. I love the Blue Ridge Parkway and try to shoot with my couples on and around it as much as possible. We started our adventure at Craggy Gardens where I hide just out of sight of the couple, and pounced when the magic moment arrived.
Obviously she said yes! So exciting! After she did we took some pictures on the Blue Ridge Parkway at cool scenic locations on the drive to Asheville. There were some fun tunnels and nature packed spots that gave us great background. She couldn’t stop showing off that gorgeous ring. Both Joey and Amanda are super fun and down for anything so I knew this was going to be the best Asheville proposal ever.
Once we got to Asheville we stopped for lunch before taking some shots around the downtown area. We couldn’t resist a few pints of craft beer before leaving the restaurant. When you think of Asheville North Carolina, you think of the mountains and nature. This couldn’t be the best Asheville proposal shoot ever unless we got into the elements. So after lunch we found a cool lake off the Blue Ridge Parkway, and my couple dove right in. This was so much fun. The passion and enjoyment on their faces really made my day.
For this Asheville proposal I used my Sony A9 and the Sony 20mm 1.8 and the Sony 85 1.8. For my areal shot of the dock I used a DJI Mavic Mini drone.
