One of my favorite places to visit is the state of Florida, so I was super excited when I was asked to do this St Augustine engagement. It was a beach engagement shoot which is even more fun. I hope you enjoy these beach couples photos. We started at one beach and then drove down further south and finished our shoot at another beach.
One thing to remember when doing shoots at the beach, is that you need to figure out what you want to do about the wind. I know a lot of photographers aren’t find of wind, but I love it. Its there naturally so show it by taking images of the wind affecting the couples hair. I always position my couples so that the wind blows their hair behind them, so you keep big chunks of hair from hitting them in the face. You’ll notice that in this St Augustine engagement photos.
After we did our initial shoot at the first beach, we drove to another one that had a cool wooden bridge with love locks all around the sides. I snagged a few pictures there as you will see below. Once we got on the beach, I noticed the colors in the sky were so beautiful, so to show that off, I exposed for the sky and light my couple with some flash to make them pop. I hope I have many more St Augustine Engagement shoots to come off the back of this one, I love it there.

As far as the gear I used on this shoot, I primarily used my Sony a9 and the Sigma 85 dgdn lens and the 14-24 Sigma dgdn lens. When I lit the couple, I did so using the Magmod MagBox.
