As one of the best charlotte wedding photographers, I was so excited when Marissa and Nick reached out to me to shoot their wedding at Board and Batten Events. This was a new beautiful luxury venue that I was eager to get into. I met Marissa and Nick at Anne Springs Greenway for their engagement shoot. We had a blast shooting all over the greenway being around such amazing scenery with all the nature Anne Springs has to offer. I was the first one to arrive at the venue on the big day. I started out by taking some shots outside. To be one of the most sought after Charlotte photographers, you have to capture everything about the day not just the bride and groom. Thats why I start outside shooting details of the venue to set the scene for the story thats about to unfold.
After setting the scene I joined up with my bride in the bridal suite and hung out with her and the bridesmaids. We were laughing and having a great time during hair and makeup. While all of this was going on, I joined Nick in the grooms suite and got some shots of him and the guys getting ready. I also took some time to get some alone groom shots of him.
When I got back to the bridal suite, I got shots of Marissa getting into her dress. I then got some bridal pictures of her, she was so beautiful. From there we went into the ceremony hall and did both the first look with Marissa and her dad, but also the first look of her and Nick. Once that excitement settled down, I was able to get some bride and groom pictures inside the venue.
The wedding ceremony was gorgeous. I loved that Marissa’s dad had his mom facetime’d in for the ceremony since she couldn’t be there. After these two said “I do,” we were all in tears, they kissed and it ended what was a magical ceremony.
I then took the bride and groom outside for some golden hour pictures. It was so cold out we had to pick quick so we didn’t turn Marissa into an ice cube. You have to know these things if you want to be one of the best Charlotte wedding photographers. Read the cues from your couples on when they’re ready to be done. In this case we were able to get everything we needed and rejoined the reception.
After cake cutting and first dances, everyone let loose and we had a great time. Check out all the pictures below especially a dope sparkler exit shot.
