I am so glad that Hannah & Dylan chose me to be their Charlotte wedding photographer. Their wedding was held at the lovely Hitchin Post in Salisbury North Carolina. Before we get to that, we met on their engagement shoot that we did all over the Blue Ridge Parkway. We shot on lakes, in the forrest and under the beautiful bridges on the parkway. We had so much fun that I knew their wedding day was gonna be a blast! If you want to see pics from that engagement shoot check out my work gallery as well as my blog.
THE WEDDING
As a Charlotte wedding photographer I’ve shot at many local area venues and I fell in love with the Hitchin Post. Not only is the venue gorgeous and wonderfully set up for events, the people that run and own the venue are fantastic. Salt of the earth kind of people! They feel you feel at home and like family which is exactly the energy you need on a wedding day.
The wedding day started like most do, in the bridal suite. I always make a point to walk around and get detailed shots of the venue before I begin with hair and makeup. I love being with my brides while they’re getting ready because the conversations with all the bridesmaids are always fun. As soon as hair and makeup finished, I then got some shots of my bride getting into her dress with her mom.
After Hannah was in her dress, I took some bridal shots of her, and then I started capturing Dylan after he was all made up. Once all the setup shots were finished we moved into the ceremony. It was raining very heavily so the ceremony was moved in doors. You cant be an amazing Charlotte wedding photographer unless you have flash skills, which I do, so shooting in doors wasn’t a problem. I also use a lot of MAGMOD products with my flash to help everything look clean and professional.
After the ceremony, we had first dances which are always fun. As soon as they ended I did some bride and groom pictures which turned out amazing. We managed to get a window where the rain slowed down enough to shoot outside. It was then time for dancing. When the rain came back, I took the couple outside with an umbrella and some of my flash and we setup a great shot for the couple. I’m so happy for them and wish them a long happy marriage!
