As an Asheville wedding photographer, I love being able to do an Asheville engagement ahead of time to get a good lay-of the land. Joey and Melanie had a bunch of good locations for this shoot. The first location we hit up was a park around their home to get some shots with their cute pup. We walked around some paths with dappled light and then hit up a cool dock to get some fun family pictures there. Once we finished shooting there, we did an outfit change and went downtown Asheville.
Being an Asheville wedding photographer it is important for me to know the layout of the downtown area. On this Asheville engagement we shoot in alleys and on the pier. The downtown area has so much character you really can’t go wrong with where you shoot. I also like shooting down by the water to get the big Asheville bridge in the background of the shots. After we shot here, we went to the some gardens before then heading to looking glass falls where we ended the shoot.
Always remember to bring a bunch of outfits for your shoot. At the beach we had one casual shoot while they rode bikes, and another beautiful outfit to close the night out in the sand. I had them run towards me and away from me to get movement. I also had Joey lift her up and give her a dip. Ending an Asheville engagement on the beach at golden hour is what it’s all about.
